Mechanical Designer / Work Preparator

Reports To: Engineering Manager / Project Lead
Location: Rijen Brabant Netherlands (Should be living in within 50km of Rijen Brabant The Netherlands.)
Position Summary:
The Mechanical Designer / Work Preparator is responsible for the design, development, and documentation of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems.
This role supports engineering projects from concept through to manufacturing, ensuring that all designs meet technical, safety, quality, and cost requirements.
The Mechanical Designer / Preparator works closely with Project Engineers, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams to deliver robust and efficient design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D models using SolidWorks software.
- Create manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Design mechanical components and systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Perform tolerance analysis and ensure manufacturability of designs.
- Support product development, prototyping, and testing activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production.
- Participate in design reviews and implement improvements where necessary.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Assist with technical documentation, manuals, and technical files.
- Support continuous improvement and product optimization initiatives.
- Hands On approach supporting the Manufacturing team within the factory.
Required Qualifications:
- MTS diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
- Minimum 1 years of experience in mechanical design (industry-specific experience preferred) As training & Support will be given.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with technical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety requirements.

- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal English necessary).
- Time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Practical understanding of fabrication, machining, and assembly processes.
Preferred (Optional)
- Experience in process safety, valves, actuators, or industrial equipment.
- Previous experience working in an international environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and document control processes.
