Greater Stella AREA (GSA) FPF-1

Petrofac Offshore Engineering & Operations gave us this offshore project in 2013. The scope was to supply mechanical interlocks for pressure safety relief systems and pig launchers for the Ithaca platform that was refurbished in Gdansk, Poland at the Gdanks Ship repair Yard “Remonotowa”.

Our interlocks are electro polished and do not require painting to perform under offshore circumstances and conditions. As electro polishing of Stainless Steel leaves a perfectly smooth surface, no corrosion will adhere to our locks.

For this project our client decided to re-use the original handwheels that were initially supplied with the valves. This unique feature which Alcatraz can offer to all their clients, makes sure that the torque specifications of the valves are strictly followed. The original handwheels are connected to our locks by using a SS316 adaptor that connects the handwheel to our locks.

The completion of the project, including Installation on site in Poland was successfully finished in 2014.
